Moscow Region

On August 17, 2017, a 56-year-old follower of the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses was attacked in the village of Nikonovsky (Ramensky District, Moscow Region), as a result of which she was hospitalized.

The attack took place at approximately 18:00. Three believers on a bench were talking, holding a Bible in their hands. At this time, a local resident approached them from behind and shouted "Get out! You've been banned!" struck one of the believers on the head with a glass jar she had in her bag. The blow was so strong that residents of neighboring houses mistook it for a shot. Continuing to shout religious insults and threats, the attacker scattered the contents of the believer's bag.

An ambulance team stopped the bleeding and took the victim to the hospital, where she was hospitalized with a diagnosis of traumatic brain injury with a concussion. A police report has been filed.
